We did not start the day well dear son. I came out into the kitchen early this morning to make daddy some coffee and realized with a start that every dish in the house was dirty, from all my cooking yesterday! By the time I made it back to the bedroom - and to you, my favorite sight to wake up to - you were wide awake! In fact, you were so awake you spit up all over the sheets, and while I was stripping them to throw in the wash... you had a poosplosion leaking smelly green poo all over your pajamas and the boppy!!
I took a BIG breath and seriously considered crawling back in bed (with clean sheets of course) and just willing myself to wake up from the messy nightmare!
But alas, it was reality. :-) And it all turned out just fine. We did 5 loads of dishes over the course of the day together! You swinging away and "talking" to me in your squeals and coos and neat-giggles ( I cant wait for your first real laugh!) and making funny faces at yourself in the mirror I propped up on the trash can. Me doing the easy work, scrubbing pots and pans. *wink*
We spent the time between loads slow dancing (you were restless!) and watching TV with Uncle Ryan, he even critiqued wedding dresses with me while I watched that silly Reality Show: Say Yes To The Dress. Make sure to give him a hard time about that later ok?
He loves you, I think. He's been besotted with you lately, now that you can smile and play. He is always coming over to make funny faces at you and walk you around. He especially likes giving you that funny dragon to play with - the one Daintry and He brought you at the hospital when you were born! You love that Dragon. It's tasty, apparently. :-)
Well I gotta go baby, youre trying to squirm out of my arms and give me a hickie simultaneously. Apparently youre bored. Or hungry. Or both.
Wanna Dance?
Love, Mommy

Your First Week
I don't know where to start this blog. It seems like I should say something profound, but there's no way to put into words how incredible the last 10 days have been. Not yet. It's all too...fresh to try and describe it adequately. Even for a girl who - kinda- has a Communications degree. *wink* It's an inside joke. Your daddy will be happy to tell you later, I'm sure.So for now, I'm just going to talk about the little things. The day to day moments. The adorable, hilarious, sticky, gross, and just plain 'awwww' moments. There are so many of them that no one is here to witness but you and me. And Gabby, I suppose. :-) She's been around to hear me giggle or cry since your first kicks. But she doesn't count. Oh! Gotta go for a second. I think you're hungry. Shock.
You're so tiny. The scale might say you weigh 7 pounds, but I don't believe it. Then again, at the rate you've been eating it seems like you should weight twice that! You must have your daddy's metabolism. Hopefully you'll keep it.
Hate to rush off, my love, but there's so much to do as a new mommy! I love you baby boy.
